This is a really nice desk. My husband wanted it for his home office. He was going for a more traditional look, and this fit the bill. However, unless you enjoy pain and complex brain puzzles, this is a bear to assemble! It took us probably 8-10 hours, working for a few hours each on a few different days (basically as long as we can stand it). And since the instructions are all photos with very little narration, there were times we put sliding drawer parts on upside down and had to redo them when we went to put in the drawers. So our advice to you is that to assemble this: 1) You need a partner/helper 2) You need to have a very strong relationship with the partner/helper 3) You need a screwdriver with a few different head sizes, ideally an electric screwdriver OR 4) Hire a handyman :) Once we got it together though, it looks really nice in the office. Note: we also bought the rug in the photo on Overstock- it's called "Alise Soho Traditional Style Oval Rug (5'3 x 7'3)."
